Questions
What happens to my PDF afterwards?
Your document is deleted the moment you remove it, or automatically if you don't. Document content is separate from account, order, and payment records. Those records do not contain the PDF, its filename, extracted or translated text, or do-not-translate terms.
Do I need to sign in?
No. You can upload a PDF and request a quote without signing in. Before checkout, we ask for an email for the order. Opening the link we send adds the order to a passwordless account; you can continue in the same browser without opening it.
What does it cost?
One fixed translation price per document, shown before you pay. It depends on how much text the document has, and the language can change it. Tax, if any, is calculated at checkout. Pricing explains how a price is set.
What if something goes wrong?
A full refund, tax included, if the translation fails or any page you paid for can't be translated. Refunds go back to the original payment method and start by themselves. Retries never cost you more.
Which languages does it support?
Any language we translate into. The bundled fonts draw Latin, Cyrillic, Han (Simplified) and Japanese (kanji, hiragana and katakana). Scripts we do not yet carry a font for — Arabic, Hebrew and others — are replaced with a placeholder and the block is flagged in the report, never silently dropped.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Not yet. Scanned pages have no text layer, so there's nothing on them to translate. Remove them before you get a price; the translated PDF contains the pages you kept. If every page looks scanned, there's nothing to translate and nothing to pay. OCR is on the roadmap.
How big can the PDF be?
Up to 25 MB, and up to 40 pages per order.
What if the translated text is longer than the original?
Your layout survives either way — every block is re-set in its own place, with its fonts and background. A line that needs more room is fitted to it, and its type may be set slightly smaller (never below 75%). Nothing is ever cut short and nothing is drawn over anything else: if a translation still cannot be placed, that line keeps its original wording and the page is flagged for you. Your document comes back with every page you kept.
